We'll go through a few screenshots of what's available to you, and
your child. The parent tour can be found
here. Feel free to click on an image to make it larger and
more in detail.
Main Screen
Here we see the initial menu screen after logging in.
Basic options include Reading and checking for new messages, writing
and composing a new messages, viewing or editing the contact manager,
and creating mailboxes to store messages.
There is also an icon to adjust personal settings such as colors/themes,
message per page, etc.
The Inbox
The Inbox view has columns that can be sorted ascending or
descending by "From", "Subject", or "Date" fields. You can
differentiate
between read and unread messages, unread being in bold and include a
yellow message icon. Select several messages and move them to
customized folders or the trash. The search button allows
the capability of searching through all of your mail to find a particular
message. You can also display a maximum number of message
per page, allowing less clutter.
Composing Mail
Composing mail is easy. Although an option, the Cc: field is removed
by default to simplify the entry of addresses. If the option
to allow your child to send mail only to the contact manager is enabled,
the To: field transforms into a drop down, limiting to whom they can
send mail.
Rich text is available which gives the option of BOLD,
Italic, Underline, Font Face and Font sizes, colors and smilies
or emoticons.
An option is available which will automatically append their signature
to the end of the message.
Mailboxes
Completely customize mailbox names.
There
isn't a limit to how many you can create. Each can have its own
description. You can edit/rename, create or delete custom mailboxes.
By default, there is the Inbox, Trash, and Sent Mail. Never
worry about having to manually empty the trash. It purges all
mail each one at a time, each week, from the date it was originally
trashed. Sent mail gets purged automatically as well, but each
month.
If a mailbox gets deleted, all existing mail gets moved into the
trash for easy rescue, rather than loosing it all by accidental erasure.
Contact Manager
Parent control options permitting, you can add, edit and delete entries
from the contact manager. A simplified list, including Friendly
name, Full Name, E-Mail Address, and Phone #.
This lists both the child's contacts as well as the shared contacts.
Shared contacts are global to your family. Rather than having
to add certain contacts to each child's list, you can add them to the
global list, which will appear on each one of your children's Contact
Manager listing.
Easy ZooBuh
There is another layout for the less experienced user. We call
it the easy version. With scaled down features, it makes it easier
to use. It is an option you can set in the Parent Control Panel.
The Inbox has From and Subject. Composing is limited to a drop
down menu, so they can't accidentally send to an unwanted recipient.
All Color, Font, Smilies are available. On the Mailboxes area,
we've removed the custom mailboxes, leaving them with Inbox, Saved,
and Trash. When they become more experienced, they can move up
to the standard level of ZooBuh.
